Awesomely Artistic meets Watercolour Wings for Angel Wings

So it’s been a while between posts, firstly because I got to spend three lovely weeks with my boys interstate on holiday and it was lovely to get away from everything & I confess I did not craft once during that time! Tragically however during that time a close friend lost her beautiful baby girl, Hannah.

Sympathy cards are never easy to make, but making one for a couple who had lost such a huge part of their future hopes and dreams is challenging beyond what is normal for me. It took me a long while to make the card, there have been a lot of tears, anger and frustration and no doubt there still will be for a long time yet to come.

The card featured a butterfly, to help her Sleeping Angel go to a better place. I could extol the virtues of having matching framelits made it easier to make the card, but in truth the Gorgeous Grunge splatter got added to cover some tear marks. The process of making the card did help me though, it created a positive focus for my energy and thoughts, to make something beautiful for Hannah and firmly lock her memory into a link with good things.

We all craft for different reasons, at different times, but at this time it has been to help me work through some of the grief and also hopefully to let the parents know that a lot of people are here for them and their beautiful daughter, Hannah, will never be forgotten.
