This month we have a lovely new stamp set being added the “best of” series, this time celebrating autumn, of course these images would be perfect for more than just autumn occasions.

Best of Autumn

As part of Stampin’ Up! 25-year anniversary celebrations, they bringing back some of the favourite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into special commemorative sets, all sets will be available until April 2014 (unless sold out earlier). Even better, along with some great classic images, each “Best of” set will also include a never-before-seen image!

Some things to remember:

  • All Best of stamp sets will include 3-8 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $25.95.
  • While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month for the next 11 months  (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until April 2014.
  • All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
  • The stamp images may be sized differently from the original stamp sets.

In the bag!

We did a bags & tags class recently at Crafternoon and these are two of the 4 projects we made. These were both commercial paper gift bags that we turned into unique gift bags, with just a little bit of effort there is no reason to gift wrap and waste lots of paper anymore, you can simple place the gift in one of these bags and then the recipient rather than tearing off nice paper, can simply take the present out and re-use it.

IMG_6182-2

This bag was decorated with a sheet of the beautiful Fresh Prints designer series paper and a double layered tag using the new angled tag topper punch. The flowers were from Flower Shop & Petite Petals (I am loving how these over lay so beautifully) and the sentiment is from Chalk Talk and punched out with the large oval punch. The faux stitching was done using a Soft Suede Stampin’ write marker pen.

The next was a larger gift bag and instead of a normal gift tag, we used the new spiral flower die in two colours, layered onto the largest of the Fun Flowers die cuts to create the leaves. I sponged all the edges of the flower and the leaves to give it more depth of colour and  it made a 3D tag that on the back has a “to/from” sentiment.

IMG_6185-2

The designer series paper on the bag is from the free Sale-a-bration Sweet Sorbet and the butterfly punch outs are cute just punched and layered with card stock and designer paper. I love how everything co-ordinates with Stampin’ Up! and you just know all of the ink colours, punches, designer paper and more will all match.

Minions!

I had a lovely hostess recently request to make a Minion card as the theme of her make and take at her workshop – ummm what’s a Minion?? Okay so I need to get out more, but thanks to Wiki I now know what a Minion is and better still I know what they look like!

Her hostess gift had a Minion tag attached to it. I made the body using the 1 3/4″ circle punch to create the large oval shape, the eyes, feet & hands were from the owl punch and the hair was made in a snip – using the new fringe scissors. The face details and faux stitching were added with a black Stampin’ Write marker pen.

IMG_6151-2

The card that everyone got to make was the one below and used many of the same punches as the tag, however the eyes, pocket and mouth were made using the  1 3/8″ circle punch,  1″ punch and the half inch punch. Don’t you just love that silver foil card stock, so shiny. It wasn’t until after I had assembled it that I realised that it used no stamping at all – well that’s not a very good way to introduce people to stamping is it!

IMG_6178-2

So to rectify my initial oversight we decorated the inside of the card with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen and added interest at the top and bottom using the Sale-a-bration set Banner Blast in the alternating colours to match the card stock used on the front of the card.

Petite Petals thank you

I try to add a card or small 3D item into each order that I get form customers as a token of appreciation for choosing to order from me when I know that they have the choice of any demonstrator in Australia. This was the card I made to go with my last lot of orders, a bright and happy thank you card. The insides of all of my cards have large removable post-it note type pieces which means that the recipient message can be removed, the next sheet used and the card re-gifted thus sharing the love.

IMG_6232-2

The centre dots were made with the eye pieces of the owl punch and crystal effects added to the centre to give extra dimension. I also had some of the flowers popped up on Dimensionals and others stamped directly on the card front to add more interest.

Stamps: Petite Petals, Tape It, Lots of Thanks

Card Stock: Strawberry Slush, Whisper White & Bermuda Bay

SAB Goodies

Here is a card we made last month at one terrific hostesses party, it was simple enough for people new to craft, but still a fun card to make for experienced crafters. It featured the Sale-a-bration embossing folder Decorative Dots and the stamp set See Ya Later. The icing on the cupcake was punched from a de-bossed piece of card stock and the cherry had Crystal Effects over it to add extra dimension.

Combat Cards part 2

So following on from the post earlier in the week, the other 3 card designs I made for Combat Cards were these, there was another card, but I forgot to take a picture of it – the photo quality below isn’t the best, but that’s what you get for a phone at night!

IMG_3583-2

Coredinations card stock always looks really good embossed and sanded back, but then I love cards with texture. The leaves were from the bird punch and the letters were from the Timeless Type Alphabet, the embossing folder is a retired one (sorry I did say in the previous post I was using up last years kits that didn’t get used) and the flower was from Flower Shop.

IMG_3578-2

I used the Petite Petals and Perfect Pennants on the Delicate Doilies for the next card, love that the Perfect Pennants comes with some interesting boarder stamps as well. I always cut my Delicate Doilies with a piece of wax paper between the die and the card stock/designer series paper to prevent the small die pieces sticking.

IMG_3585-2

The last one was using up some items from last years Sale-a-bration, I have a box of punches out items (like these butterflies) that would have been excess to what ever project I was doing at the time and the leftovers all go into a box for use later on tags or similar. The sentiment is from Perfect Pennants and the honeycomb embossing folder is such a favourite of mine!

The next Combat Card session is on the 17th of March.

Combat Cards – Petite Petals & Perfect Pennants

I had the opportunity to join some lovely creative ladies on Monday evening for Combat Cards. In essence they create cards each month which are sent to our armed forces so that they can mail cards back to their family/friends – awesome aren’t they? Anyways they let me tag along (I’ve been meaning to go for over a year, but life derailed a bit last year for me, but better late than never).

I was using up some kits that got cut for classes last year and didn’t end up being used at the time, but once a kit is cut it’s hard to use it for anything else. However I combined them with some of the new Occasions products and came up with these two cards, I did make more, but I’ll share those tomorrow otherwise this will be a really long post!

IMG_3579-2

The flowers are from Petite Petals, which are so pretty, if you purchase them in a bundle with the co-ordinating punch you save 15% which makes them good value. I only partially covered the Pool Party card stock with the honeycomb embossing folder, before covering the join with some thin Island Indigo ribbon (retired). The leaves are from the two step bird punch and the sentiments are from the new Perfect Pennants stamp set.

IMG_3582-2

If you would like to join these amazing ladies once a month the timetable for the year can be found below or if you can’t physically get to a session, there are card drop off points as well.

ESAD Occasions Blog Hop – Perfect Pennants

1620439_682454408444527_1650089597_n

Are you as excited as I am about the new Occasions catalogue? So many new things to create with, hopefully this ESAD blog hop will show you some of the things you can create with them. Did you love what Clare made, wasn’t it awesome??

What is ESAD? ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas & friendship, and we’re always there to help and support each other.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand (or want to become one), then please feel free to leave me a comment with your Email address and I’ll contact you with information on how to join our wonderful group.

I chose to create some things with the Perfect Pennants bundle – don’t you love getting 15% off products for purchasing a co-ordinating bundle?

134816G

Here’s a quick card made using Primrose Petals and So Saffron inks with the pennant dies  used to cut a frame for the sentiment. The magnetic platform makes positioning and cutting with the framelits really easy.

IMG_6195-3

I also used the spiral flower die with coredinations card stock to create this card and matching bottle tag.

IMG_6164-2

The lace type piece behind the flower is from the Delicate Doilies embosslit, I get the best results with this die when I cut it with wax paper.

For some more ideas you can see the You Tube video here:

You can view the Occasions catalogue online here or if you want a hard copy, just let me know in the comments below. I hope that you are enjoying the hop. now it’s time to hop off to see what the awesomely talented Andrea has made.

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a lovely team meeting on Thursday evening where we got to play with the envelope punch board and make some cute tags with the new tag topper punches. One of our amazing team ladies baked some super yummy cupcakes to celebrate Valentines Day and showered us with chocolates made with the Hearts A Flutter stamps and matching Hearts A Flutter dies.

IMG_3576-2

If you want to turn a fun hobby into an income generating business, check out some FAQs on joining my team with the added bonus of an extra $20 in your fully customisable starter kit during Sale-a-bration.

Whilst I was at the team meeting, my cherub made me a card and gave it to me at breakfast the next morning accompanied with “Happy Mother’s Day” wishes……….. I explained that it was Valentine’s Day not Mother’s Day, but the card came with chocolate and an owl punchie so he was on the right track!

Then he decided whilst I was making lunches before school that he needed to make some Valentine’s treats for his teachers past & present…….I am SO glad I bought some of the monster treat kits when they were available last month as in no time at all he had assembled these to distribute at school. I thought they were very appropriate as he can be a little monster, but his heart is in the right place.

IMG_6192-2

All of the recipients were very happy, albeit surprised…….I don’t think teachers get many Valentine’s treats from students….. maybe we need to instigate some random acts of chocolate more often in the education system this year?
