I am loving the new fringe scissors from the new Occasions Catalogue – I was making a farm scene last night on a tag and needed to fussy cut some grass to add interest/dimension to it. So I just snipped along a strip, then went back and added an angle here and there with my normal scissors and in under half a minute I had awesome looking grass for my tag (well I thought it looked awesome).
The chicken was made using the owl builder punch and the pennants & flowers from the Sale-a-bration freebies Banner Blast and co-ordinating punch (sorry about the rubbish photo – taken at night, in low light with my phone).

What a crazy day – not one, but two new catalogues! There are some wonderful items in this new mini catalogue to help celebrate the everyday things that we delight in. I am in love with the two new tag topper punches, so versatile, and the new fringing scissors will make creating grass on Easter cards so easy!

Here is a card we made last term using one of the stamped images from the set. The card stock was naturals ivory, which I haven’t used a lot, but love it for the aged look the flecks in it give. This was enhanced using Gorgeous Grunge, some sponging and small squares of designer series paper rolled with Bakers Twine in the centre – great way to use up scraps or designer series paper and the best thing is if they are from the same pack they will all match and co-ordinate nicely.
The most exciting time of the year is almost here! From January 28th until March 31st 2014, it is Sale-a-bration which means for every AUD$90 you spend as a customer you get a free item of your choice from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. What is ESAD?
ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas & friendship, and we’re always there to help and support each other.
So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to leave me a comment with your Email address and I’ll contact you with information on how to join our wonderful group.
I chose to feature the stamp set See Ya Later in this blog post – I have used a few other Sale-a-bration items, but that was my focus. It is a quirky stamp set of 4 different sentiments suitable for a myriad of occasions. The first card was CASEd from a US demonstrator as I loved her use of Zoo Babies with the See Ya Later set (and Zoo Babies was on my desk from another project I made earlier today)! It does use the marker direct to rubber technique for the sentiment and the small heart is punched from the gold envelope liners in the Good As Gold Simply Sent Kit (another Sale-a-bration item) with the Owl Punch and Candy Dots to add dimension (the surround of the sentiment banner was also gold foil, but the high shine of it didn’t show up in the photograph).
The second card features the cupcake punch and the decorative dots embossing folder (I love this Sale-a-bration item and it has the bonus of carrying over beyond Sale-a-bration), it is a clean and simple card using only one ink colour, my favourite Chocolate Chip.
This card was inspired by one of the artisan design team cards, but I switched it around a bit – the sentiment got cropped as there is a spelling discrepancy between north America and Australia, so rather than be annoyed by it – I cut it in half! The background was done using Gorgeous Grunge and the donut icing was highlighted with a stamp sponge with more chocolate chip ink. The donut circles were cut using the circles framelits on the magnetic plate.
The final card also used the gold envelope liner & twine from the Good As Gold Sale-a-bration kit, the Banner Blast stamp set and the banner punch.
The first class back this term of Crafternoon Tea is all using Sale-a-bration items on February 4th or you can join in the physical catalogue launch party here. If you would like a copy of the Sale-a-bration brochure please don’t hesitate to contact me either commenting on this post, email gerlach@iinet.net.au or phone 0421 482 578. The next blog in the hop is that of an amazingly creative lady Delys, whom I had the pleasure of meeting and spending some time with both at the national Stampin’ Up! convention last year and also in the USA at the Grand Vacation trip, so hop on over and see what she has made to inspire youhere.
I’ve had two classes during school holidays (not just for children as the projects are suitable for all ages +6). As school returns soon, we made a corner bookmark, a bag tag and decorated a notebook. As most of the participants were children, we used the super cute limited edition Monster Hugs, available until January 27th in blue or coral, they are $9.95 for a pack of 18 and are designed to hold treats, but we used them flat.
The alphabet used was Morning Post, which I have in clear mount as I find it easy then to line up words on the clear blocks without having to use a stamp-a-ma-jig!
For some reason I didn’t take a photograph of the bag tag – they were made using shrink plastic stamped with StazOn ink and coloured with pencils. Below is the corner monster bookmark that we made using a 6″x6″ base piece of card stock.
The children had a lot of fun, as did the parents, my regular Tuesday afternoon classes recommence on February 4th so you can BYO projects and enjoy some afternoon tea and child free time for just $5 or join in on my set classes where everything is provided for $20, creche is still subsidised (thank you Cockburn Council) and costs just $2.50 for 2 hours. For more details contact me of check out my website.
Stampin’ Up! are increasing the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies discount to 40% their RRP is $45.95 for the set of 3 framelits, but whilst stocks last they are now just $27.95!
There are three dies in every pack of Envelope Liners Framelits (132218). The liners were originally designed to coordinate with the Stampin’ Up! envelopes. However it was discovered that the largest die, though it fits the envelope, doesn’t coordinate as it should as the envelopes have a rounded edge and the die has a square edge. Since it does not coordinate with the envelopes Stampin’ Up! has decided to provide a discount on the entire pack.
In the future the envelope liner dies will be corrected so that the largest die will also have the correct rounded edge to it; until then the discount will remain valid. When the die is corrected, it will have a new item number and the price will change, all of which will be communicated to you when the product is available. Unfortunately, Stap!mpin’ U will not exchange the old Framelits for the new Framelits once they are available, nor will you be reimbursed for the difference if the Framelits were purchased at the previously discounted price of 25% off.
Click the link below to see how easy they are to use – they also make awesome treat boxes & not just for making the inside of your envelopes pretty!
You can also round the corners of the largest frame lit which is “wrong” by rounding the corners of it with one of the punches built in to the envelope punch board.
Yes it’s that time of the year again – the most exciting time when we have not one but two new catalogue launches! Sale-a-bration and the new Occasions catalogues will go live at the end of January/beginning of February and you are invited to come and join in the fun! One of the many perks of being a demonstrator is that I get to play with the products before they are released to customers and I’ve been having lots of fun of late!
This year Sale-a-bration is even more exciting that normal as Stampin’ Up! has lowered the spend to get rewards – this year for every $90 you spend you get to chose an exclusive Sale-a-bration item, these include stamp sets, kits, designer series paper (DSP), accessories, My Digital Studio software, an embossing folder or a punch – lots of choice and they are all lovely. There are also bonuses for hosting a party or joining my team.
The new Occasions catalogue is packed full of wonderful items including new stamp sets, punches, framelits, kits, DSP, embellishments, dies, embossing folders and more!
So why not come along and join us for a couple of hours of creative FUN. Get your hands on both new catalogues, participate in some make & takes. See some of the new products plus great displays to get inspired as well as enjoying afternoon tea & catching up with friends and making some new ones.
Numbers will be strictly limited (I do have a learning curve!) so I have two time slots for this event. To secure your place you must RSVP with which session you will be attending and make a payment prior to the event of $5 (the later will be donated to charity, but it’s my way of hopefully getting people to commit to coming along rather than saying yes then not turning up). If you don’t want to pay via PayPal (below) you can direct deposit (Ann Gerlach ANZ bank BSB 016016 account 476967137) or pay me cash prior to the event.
Date: Saturday February 8th
Session 1 : noon – 2.30pm
Session 2: 3 – 5.30pm
NB: if you are paying for more than one person – can you please leave each participants full name in the special message box for me.
The venue will be at the St. James Church, corner Elderberry and Hackettiana Drives in South Lake. Feel free to share the invitation with friends, but it is a space limited event, so once it’s full, well it’s full!
What this also means though is that the Holiday catalogue will finish and there is no guarantee that items will carry over or re-appear in the next main catalogue in July, so if there was something on your wish list I’d say get it sooner rather than later!
