New Valentines Fun – only whilst stocks last!

I know if you are like me you haven’t quite finished your Christmas cards yet, but I did manage to finish my cherubs Advent Calendar with a few hours to spare last night!

Valentines Day will be here in a couple of short months, but to be honest these stamp sets and kits would be perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, journalling and a whole lot more. There are 7 different items on the Valentine’s promotion plus of course the new Best Of stamp set which you can see here.

The first stamp set is this super cute Lover You More – I can see me using this for so many things throughout the year. The clear set is AUD$29.95 and the wood set is AUD$37.95.

The last stamp is a single wood mounted stamp called Flowerfull Heart – this is going to look amazing embossed on wedding invitations or coloured with marker pens, it is $16.95.

For those of us who are time anaemic there is a great kit called Sweet Sayings for use $9.95 containing 12 printed card bases and envelopes – four each or real red, pool party & crisp cant elope – you just need to add a stamped image, write inside and mail them off – too easy!

Christmas Treat Bags MDS Style!

I had this idea a couple of weeks ago to do some treat bags for the P&C stall at my cherubs school concert in a fortnights time……..I wanted them to be easy to make (as any sort of mass production is time consuming) and non stampers and some young people would be helping me – so I immediately thought of doing them in My Digital Studio.

I was pleased with the results, the main images all came from No Peeking, the holly and baubles were from Jolly Bingo Bits, I love being able to resize the images in My Digital Studio in this instance it allowed me to add holly embellishments and replace the letter “o” in the words.

I also need to submit a “please explain” as for the reason mini marshmallows no longer come in plain white – they now come in white, yellow, pink and green!!! The back of this bag topper has some cute snowflake overlays from Snowburst on the poem.

Of course no Christmas treat bag set is complete without the reindeer food! The designer series paper I used strips on the bag toppers is called Waiting for Santa (which is 30% off until the end of this month!)

Undefined Stamp Carving Kit

Have you ever wanted a stamp but couldn’t find the perfect image?  Undefined is Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp carving product line. You define the rubber stamp any way you want. If you prefer clear mount stamps to wood mount, you can easily convert the stamp to clear mount by using a sheet of Clear-Mount Cling Foam, mounting your stamps on the cling foam allows you to make stamps any size you want, not just what will fit on the blocks in the kit.

Christmas Collectables or Flower Shop – one card two looks!

I thought it was about time I showed you one of the projects from the Pink Ribbon National Breast Cancer Fundraiser from last month……a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported such a worthy cause. All up on the day we were able to donate $1402 to the charity – not bad for 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon!! So very proud of everyone who assisted, donated, participated, ordered and went above and beyond – I sincerely thank you for all of your generosity, time and friendship.

Each project had the option of being either Christmas themed or more generic, depending upon the participants preferences. The layout and papers for this card were identical, Gumball Green Core-dinations card stock embossed with the new Stylish Stripes embossing folder and sanded, designer series paper from the Season of Style paper stack and the Christmas Collectables bauble stamps and punch with the sentiment from the ever versatile Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

The next version was almost identical except for using the Flower Shop stamp set & co-ordinating punch.

Bottle Tags

I am a fairly boring gift giver, I am the self confessed queen of gift cards, but gift cards aren’t always appropriate to take along to a celebration or to exchange as part of a Kris Kringle – so my second fall back item is a bottle of wine (of course a nice bottle of sauce or olive oil etc would work equally as well). Of course I can’t just put the bottle into a bag as that would be way too boring, I love to add a bottle tag to the item to dress it up.

Bottle tags are very quick and easy to make as an A4 sheet of card stock will make 4 bottle tags. Score the A4 sheet at 7.5cm (or 3″) along the longest side, turn and cut into 4 strips at 7.4cm, 14.8cm & 22.2cm. Using a circle punch (I use the 1 3/4″ circle punch) I punch as far as I can into the smaller of the scored ends of the card stock strip, the punch is approximately the same width as the strip of card stock so I just guestimate the middle of it rather than lining it up exactly.

The bottle tag above is made using Old Olive ink, the Tag It stamp set and I added red glimmer paper and partially embossed a Very Vintage Designer button in gold embossing powder stuck it all together and it’s as simple as that.

Below is a super simple Christmas bottle tag using the Merry Little Christmas stamp set and the oval framelits, as you can see you can dress the tags up or leave them clean and simple – the choice is yours.

These two bottle tags were done for a local Wetland group who were raising money for projects and wanted to ‘dress up’ some donated bottles of wine they were raffling off – so myself and a friend made 20 tags to go with the wine.
