I saw a great tutorial on SCS this week on pointillism, which I hadn’t done since I was about 13 years old in art class when we were learning about Georges Seurat work and impressionism. Fortunately the new Blendabilties lend themselves perfectly to this work and I combined that with CASEing a card made by Jan Tink and this was the result.
I really like the way Jan hand drew the border around the finished card front. Here’s a visual of the colour build up using the different Blendabilities colours. So using the light marker of the Coastal Cabana, these were the areas of the flower that I coloured.
Using the medium Coastal Cabana marker I added more dots.
Using the darkest Coastal Cabana marker I added yet more colour to the petals.
Then I added the colour to the centre of the flower with the lightest and darkest Daffodil Delight Blendabilies and added depth with the Bronze marker from the skin tone pack.
I love this colouring technique – what techniques have you got on your to try list?
