Envelope Punch Board Camera

We’ve been invited to a friends 70th this afternoon and he is an amazing marine photographer, in fact for over half his life he has been the photographer for the Western Australian Museum, you can see some of his still photos here or here. His talents also reach to underwater videography for recreation and documentaries for work and building his own re-breather unit so his scuba bubbles wouldn’t affect his work. He’s a lot of fun to dive with or chat with over a meal as his work has taken him all over the globe, he is a typical behind the camera sort of person who isn’t used to the focus of attention being on him, so this afternoon will be fun! Of course I wanted to make him a camera card, but Christmas and school holidays are taking it’s toll on my mojo of late so I tracked down two that looked good on the internet that I could use as a starting point.

The first by Bronwyn who used a silhouette cameo to cut the design here, but as I don’t own one of those it wasn’t much good to me! The second by Valerie used the envelope punch board here and I do have an envelope punch board as it’s my new must use on every project tool!.

The base size for the camera was 7.5cm x 10.5cm and the silver foil overlay was 10cm x 7cm. Each was scored on the board at 1 1/4″. The circles are 1 3/4″, 1 3/8″ & 1 1/4″. The side sentiment is from Baby Prints and the numbers from Morning Post Numbers. The flash area is a scrap of silver glimmer paper free cut. Of course The card stock colours aren’t showing up the best but they are basic black, smokey slate, whisper white and basic grey.

Of course I made a matching gift card holder using the Pop ‘n Cuts base scored at 3.5″, 5.5″ and 7.5″ and adhered with sticky strip A polaroid photo frame was made for the number 70 using the square framelits and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments!

A matching envelope was made for both using the envelope punch board – love that tool which at just $31.95 is a bargain given it’s versatility! Right off to pack a picnic and go and enjoy some fun in the sun with friends at the park to celebrate an amazing mans birthday.
