Emu Punch Art Card

I had a request from my husband this weekend to make an Emu card……he’s an environmental scientist and one of the PhD candidates he works with is studying Emu’s. Now I have made an ostrich card before, but not an Emu one……..so with a lot of punches, lots of fussy cutting this was the result……still not 100% with the beak, but given the time constraints it wasn’t a bad effort – was it?

Stamps: Up, Up & Away

Ink: Basic Black, Cajun Craze & Crumb Cake

Card stock: Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Basic Grey

Accessories: Ornament punch, Boho Blossom Punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, blossom punch, wide oval punch, small oval punch (retired), owl punch, stamping sponge, 3/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ square punch, Dimensionals, Tombow Glue, SNAIL.

This is the cutest thing. How did you make the little fuzzy feathers? snipped paper?

  4. admin says:

Yes – the black “feather” are all thinly snipped paper……I was looking at Emus and they seem to be a lot fluffier than ostriches, hence my addition onto this bird of the hand snipped bits.
