The Christmas Card Challenge is something I used to run in a past life ie well over 20 years ago and I think things got busy and I stopped, but this year I’m reviving it! The awesome thing is that it’s your personal challenge, not one with goals that I set – my only agenda is to encourage you to craft & hopefully help reduce stress come the festive season,; plus as a bonus I’m offering some little prizes and we can share our creations to inspire each other…so hopefully it’s a win:win situation & I’m happy to modify things if you have suggestions on how to make it better.
The challenge goes like this if you normally make e.g. 40 Christmas Cards per year to give away/mail out then break it down into monthly blocks from February – November (ie divide by 10) and aim to make 4 cards per month then boom – by the time Christmas comes around hopefully you will be able to just write out the cards and address the envelopes without having to set aside days to make the cards.
You chose how many cards that you are aiming to make each month, if you join in August your goal may be higher per month than if you join in February…..but it’s your personal goal. Bonus is if you share a photo each month of what you created either on email/SMS to me or on the FaceBook group then I’ll add you to the monthly prize drawing. PLUS as a bonus for those that played along each month you get put into a different prize draw at the end and those that achieved their original target goal of cards made you all get to go into a different draw (so all up you have 12 chances of winning a prize throughout the year).
So What’s not to love – there’s no cost, no penalties and it’s run on your honesty….I’ll only be mailing prizes to Australia addresses though, however if you are from overseas feel free to join in the fun each month and help inspire each other. Below is what I made this month, which is 2 cards to make up the quota for February and 3 towards my target 4 cards for March….as you can see there are duplicates, retired items, CASEd layouts….
There aren’t many rules, it doesn’t matter if you make them all the same design, it doesn’t matter if it’s Stampin’ Up! or non Stampin’ Up! product, I don’t mind if it’s retired product, I just want to see people crafting & enjoying themselves, I would however ask that you don’t post advertisements on the group. Please also remember to be kind, we are all at different stages of our crafting journey and this year more than most I’d like to see kindness become the new black.
You can either join the group on FaceBook here or just joining via email or SMS and just send me a picture each month of what you’ve made.
