I had a lovely hostess recently request to make a Minion card as the theme of her make and take at her workshop – ummm what’s a Minion?? Okay so I need to get out more, but thanks to Wiki I now know what a Minion is and better still I know what they look like!
Her hostess gift had a Minion tag attached to it. I made the body using the 1 3/4″ circle punch to create the large oval shape, the eyes, feet & hands were from the owl punch and the hair was made in a snip – using the new fringe scissors. The face details and faux stitching were added with a black Stampin’ Write marker pen.
The card that everyone got to make was the one below and used many of the same punches as the tag, however the eyes, pocket and mouth were made using the 1 3/8″ circle punch, 1″ punch and the half inch punch. Don’t you just love that silver foil card stock, so shiny. It wasn’t until after I had assembled it that I realised that it used no stamping at all – well that’s not a very good way to introduce people to stamping is it!
So to rectify my initial oversight we decorated the inside of the card with a sentiment from Delightful Dozen and added interest at the top and bottom using the Sale-a-bration set Banner Blast in the alternating colours to match the card stock used on the front of the card.
