Well what an Easter – I hope that you all managed to stay safe, relax and catch up with friends and family as the case may be, unfortunately we all managed to get colds in our house, so not much fun, but the Easter Bunny still made a strong appearance despite the germs!
I wanted to share with you my first attempt at a My Digital Studio (MDS) project, I kept it fairly clean and simple and it turned out to be a hybrid digital/traditional card – I didn’t really start out with any clear idea for the project, I just started watching the instruction videos and this was the result.
I printed it out on Very Vanilla Card stock and then physically added a glimmer brad to the flower centre and layered it up onto Regal Rose and Early Expresso card stock.
The program was easier to use than I thought, I added some additional free downloads to the free 30 day trial (both available through my online store). I really loved how the printed ink e.g. the flower, perfectly matched the mat layer of card stock. I can see it being fantastic for custom invitations and the like and I can’t wait to see what a photo book will look like! You can download your FREE 30 day trial of MDS by clicking the link below.

Wow I can’t believe that we are a quarter of the way through 2013 – is it just me that feels like this year is in hyperdrive? Anyway amidst the melee I’ve done two Easter classes recently and yesterday our family made chocolate crackle nests with speckled eggs in them & this morning was the traditional Easter hunt followed by a scrumptious breakfast of freshly made waffles – so we are still making time for some important things!
I thought I would do a long post and share with you some of the Easter items we have made over the last 3 weeks, these aren’t all of them, but enough to give you some ideas? This was a basic card made with designer series paper (DSP) and an image from Every Bunny coloured using watercolour pencils & a blender pen.
The card got stepped up to this with a dry embossed border using the beautiful Delicate Design Borders, sponging and some punch flowers with rhinestone centres.
We also made a number of 3D gift items including the marshmallow bunny from a previous post, and this modified petite purse bunny. The bunny head is cut from the second smallest heart framelit. It holds Easter eggs or in this instance two small share pack treats. I saw a similar thing online somewhere and for the life of me I now can’t find the source to credit it, I changed the ears on it though as they used the Blossom Builder punch, whereas I was naughty and used a retired small oval punch (opps!).
Then of course I just HAD to make some little treats for my cherubs class – avoiding dairy, nuts, gluten and I’m not sure what else in the contents – I decided on pre-wrapped lollies in our skinny cellos as then the parent could read the ingredient list and decide if their littlies could eat it or not – as you can see from the photo these were finished late at night – is there any other time we get to craft??
And a cheeky nut & dairy version of filling the skinny cellos, Christmas saw these topped as reindeer poop now they are bunny poop! How versatile are these bags – at just $4.50 for 50 they are perfect for almost every occasion.
In the second class we made a version of a beautiful card – I’ve seen many different versions on the internet so struggle to credit it to just one person. I also think this would be a great card for a christening, confirmation, sympathy or other similar event – with Teeny Tiny Sentiments you could just change the greeting to suit the occasion.

Well Easter is fast approaching and it’s always a nice idea to have some alternatives on hand for treats other than chocolate! This cute little creation can be filled with whatever treats you want – marshmallows, jellybeans, mini eggs – the choice is yours and you can make it bigger or smaller, depending upon which cellophane bag you use, Stampin’ Up! has a range of sizes.
Now I confess to being naughty with this creation as I did use a retired punch (and completely didn’t realise until now it was retired!), I used the old small oval punch, but the new one layers just as nicely or you can just use the large oval and slightly offset them. Glue dots are quick and easy to use to stock all the assembled pieces onto the bag once it’s filled & the back also has a white large Boho Blossom punch out for the tail.
Ink: Pretty in Pink & black stamp ‘n write marker pen
Card stock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink & Basic Black

I am loving the Sale-a-bration items, but lets face it who doesn’t love something for FREE? Here is a get well card that we made in class recently, it’s definitely a clean and simple design, but everyone loved it. I am making more of these in different colours as I want a stash of get well cards ready for any winter sniffles that might come along (yes I know it’s the first day of Autumn tomorrow not mid winter, but I’m trying to be organised!).

I had the pleasure of being involved in a friends baby shower last weekend – instead of the normal food and chat we had a crafty couple of hours. As this is her fourth child, one thing she won’t have much time for is making cards for the next few months so we got together and made up multiples of the below designs so she had a stash of cards ready to go. They had to be simple so we could all make them and I chose to use the Brights family of card stock and designer series paper as that would be most suited to children.
The colours of the designer series paper (DSP) changed as did the coloured mat layer on the cards, but generally they were all similar.
The designer series paper was all from the Brights patterned stack, of course some basic rhinestones never go astray!
This has to be my favourite card (below) awesome for using up strips of scrap designer series paper (or you could even use strips of card stock and dry emboss them to add texture).
