Product shares

With all the new gorgeous designer series paper (DSP) and ribbons in the new Annual and Holiday catalogues if you are like me – you want it all NOW!!! However the reality is – like me, you haven’t won Lotto – so how do you get everything without melting your credit card? The answer is simple, join one of my product shares – these allow you get a large enough sample of everything to make a couple of cards or a scrap layout without the big financial outlay.

For example if you join the DSP (designer series paper) share for $50 you get a 6″x6″ piece of every new DSP in both the Annual and Holiday catalogues (except for the Festival Prints DSP as that is 11.4cm x 16.5cm in size). If you went to purchase this in their full packs it would cost you well over $400!

The ribbon shares give you 1m lengths of each of the ribbon colours, except for the Bakers Twine which is a 2m length of each colour. So if you are interested in joining one or all of the product shares just email me gerlach@iinet.net.au with your choice and once each share is full, I order the product, split it up and give it to each of the participants – too easy!

Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow for some awesome ideas from some super talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators for some blog hop fun!

Open Sea Shaving Foam

This was the other card we made in class this week for the shaving foam technique, we also did faux patina, but that’s another post! Here are some of the pieces of card stock prior to being made into the cards, love how every single sheet is unique!

I was so excited when Open Sea made it back into the main catalogue, we’re not a nautical family, but I have always lived relatively close to the ocean and love it when the old sailing ships are in port.

Card Stock: Glossy White, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy

Accessories: White Bakers Twine, gold brads, Dimensionals, spritzer, 3/4″ circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch

Shaving foam Lovely as a Tree

We had a lot of fun in class today – we made shaving foam backgrounds! These are pretty easy and fun to make and every single on is unique! Honestly I was SO excited when I saw that this stamp set wasn’t retiring from the new catalogue, it has to be one of my all time favourites and not only has it not retired, Stampin’ Up! has released it in clear mount now too!

This shaving foam background was made with only two re-inker colours and the edge of the frame lit die cut sponged with Old Olive ink. I am loving the new Festive Paper Piercing Pack that co-ordinates so well with our Labels Framelits – another winning combination from Stampin’ Up! in my opinion as it gives the project so much detail with no added bulk or expense!

Stamp: Lovely as a Tree

Ink: Old Olive, Black Stazon, Cajun Craze & More Mustard re-inkers

Card stock: Gloss white, Early Expresso, Old Olive

Accessories: Labels Framelits, Big Shot, festive paper piercing pack, paper piercer, stamping sponge

Non SU!: shaving foam, skewer

Baby shower wish cards

I made some cards a few months ago for a friends baby shower – the guests were to write in them what they wished for the mum to be and the baby. I made each card different and as they were written in, they were placed so as to decorate the room. There were 20 different cards in all & as the babes’ gender was a surprise they were a mix or male/female/neutral to suit guests thoughts!

As it turned out she had a wonderful baby boy & both are very happy and healthy!

Clockworks engagement card

I made an engagement card recently for a lovely girl at Crafternoon who after many patient years of waiting to be asked by her partner recently became engaged. Needless to say the occasion warranted a card at the very least. Congratulations Penny – thanks for sharing your wonderful news with us!

I used the stamp set we got for free at part of attending our Regional Stampin’ Up! event recently – I am loving the texture and dimension of this set.

Stamps: Clockworks, Loving Thoughts

Card stock: Whisper White, First Edition DSP, Real Red

Ink: Real Red, Soft Suede & Basic Black

Accessories: Full heart punch, small heart punch, linen thread, basic rhinestones, Dimensionals, stamping sponge.

Lovely as a Tree Reflection Technique

I CASEd this card a while ago from the super talented Michelle Z. she did hers with a brayer and I used stamping sponges for mine as I prefer the detailed control – don’t you love how you can get the same effect using different items. I think the most challenging part of this was adding the white gel pen highlights and not getting them to look like white blobs!

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree

Card stock: Basic Black, Soft Suede, White gloss

Ink: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Soft Suede & Early Expresso

Accessories: Scallop Circle Bigz die, Circle Scissors Plus (cutting the circle, but you could use the new 3 1/2″ circle die), Dimensionals, silver brads, paper piercer, SNAIL, 1 3/4″ circle punch (moon), stamping sponge, white gel pen.

Non SU!: Post it note

Tool Time Scrapbook Layout

Happy Father’s Day! My boys are totally into tools, the workshop/shed and building things, hence my need to create a tool themed scrapbook layout. By chance it also fitted the theme of the Only Scrapbooking challenge this month!

The whole layout was inspired by a tool belt my husband wears and when you lift out the yellow screwdriver and the measuring tape there are extra places for photographs and journalling on the reverse side where I added a Very Vanilla panel.

The pages were pretty simple after I worked out the template for making all the tools (which took me quite a while!), lots of sponging, hand stitching with the Stampin’ Write marker pen. If you like this layout why not join us for our next scrapbook class check my latest events list for details.

Stamps: Woodgrain

Ink: Chocolate Chip & Basic Gray

Card stock: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, brushed silver, Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Daffodil Yellow & Very Vanilla

Accessories: Stripes Textured Embossing Folder, stamping sponge, Word Window punch, 1″ circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 3/4″ circle punch, 1/2″ circle punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch, itty bitty punch, corner rounder punch, paper snips, Tombow Glue, SNAIL, 2 3/8″ scalloped circle punch, Simple Letters Alphabet die (retired)
