Modified Petal Cone Box Tutorial & Card

Here’s a quick box & card set that we made in class this week, it was done using the petal cone die and a couple of retiring products……….I am a bit sad to see the lovely Concord Crush going, but the new colours are so lovely, it’s that bitter sweet time of the year! This is on of the sets we made:

I’ll go through the box step by step so you can recreate this at home, if you don’t own the die then I’d be happy to order it for you. Cut two petal cone dies and do the below to both.

Fold it in half and place it into the paper trimmer so that the top crease line is at 7.5cm and parallel to the cutting blade.

Move the petal cone die cutout to 5cm and score it.

Open it back out and cut off part of the tab and snip the bottom to form two tabs.

When you have done the above to both petal cone dies, join them together.

form a box

It sort of looks like a mini Chinese noodle box! Fold the top down and decorate it – I added a belly band in a contrast colour.

I added a dry embossed butterfly and made a matching card – they featured paper beads (but that’ll be a separate blog post as this one is long enough as it is!).

Heartfelt Regionals

Well what a busy weekend – yes, finally I think (??) I have my new blog up and running, my new newsletter host sorted (if you haven’t subscribed please do) and still trying to process all of the amazing things I saw yesterday at the Perth Regional Heartfelt Stampin’ Up! Event – it was so much fun!

Do you like the name badge I made? It uses some of the awesome new framelits and stamps that will be released later this week – so exciting to have not one but two new catalogues being released in such a short time! The other item in the photo was my wristband – all gold and shimmery! The theme of the event was heartfelt Christmas and we certainly got some lovely gifts, listen to some inspiring presentations on gift packaging, simple cards, ornaments, latest tools and techniques plus we got to do 4 make and take projects and a new addition for this year the product playground. This was so cool there were 5 different stations (stamping, heat tool, brayering, Big Shot and wheels) and you could sit and play with the products, get instruction and tips and make something to take home for later – I was fortunate enough o be asked to do the roller wheel station for the afternoon and got to meet some lovely ladies and have a really fun time. I will share the projects with you in a different post.

If you haven’t already checked the retirement lists – please do so now as you only have a few days left to order anything from the current catalogue, I’m putting my last order in on August 30th, so if you want anything contact me before 8pm on that day!

To help offset the sadness at seeing some lovely stamp sets and accessories retire – why not join us at the new catalogue launch party on Saturday 8th of September – details are here!

Welcome to my new Stampin’ Up! blog!

Welcome to my new blog, thanks for joining me on my creative journey, I am making the change from a different blog to this one at the minute (all of my old posts can be viewed here), you can now follow me on FaceBook, check out my website or the other pages on this blog to order product, view catalogues and specials, host a party or join my team!

I thought I’d show you a card we made at a workshop recently, it uses some product that is retiring very soon, so if you are interested in getting it contact me sooner rather than later to place your order! It is called a try-fold card and they look effective, but are actually easy to make.

I love how all of the Stampin’ Up! products co-ordinate, the punches with the stamps and the inks with the papers.

I love how the sponging of the edges of the punched shapes and designer series paper blends the pieces into each other and gives the whole card a much softer appearance.

Stamps: Triple Treat Flower, Happiest Birthday Wishes

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Elegant Eggplant

Card Stock: Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink Designer Patterns Stack, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade

Accessories: Basic Rhinestones, Labels Collection Framelits, Little Leaves Die, Bitty Punch Pack, 5-petal flower, 1/2″ circle punch, Fancy Flower punch, Dimensionals, Tombow Glue, Elegant Eggplant Scalloped Dotted Ribbon.
