Happy Tails safe at home

Whilst I was at home in isolation in April I made and sent lots of cards, as who doesn’t like receiving some happy mail or a “paper hug”? It turns out I mailed 77 cards in April a number of which were this design.

I love the Happy Tails stamp set and am sad that it is retiring next month, but glad the punch is staying around as I’ve made some nice silhouette cards using it. The sentiment for this card I printed onto Whisper White card stock from my computer at home and matched the brown writing as best I could to Early Expresso. The other colours are Crumb Cake and Real Red…I love the little dog house on this card as with the heart above the entrance of it, it makes it look like a safe place not a “dog house” as in a naughty place to be sent. Anyways I hope that you are all safe and are sharing the paper love with others in these weird times.

Comfort & Hope Butterfly Collage

I reverted to my lovely blue pallet for the next card I’ve made with Comfort & Hope. I love the different texture elements in the stamp set and co-ordinated it with Butterfly Beauty dies. The base card stock is the stunning new Misty Moonlight which looks beautiful with Coastal Cabana and a “pop” of Gold Foil.

The inks used were Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana and stamped off (or second generation) Night of Navy as I don’t have the new Misty Moonlight ink pad yet. The large butterfly was cut from the largest die in the Butterfly Beauty set of dies and the gold base was also hand cut from the gold foil to co-ordinate it with the rest of the card. Are you loving the versatility of the new Comfort & Hope set?

Comfort & Hope Father’s Day

So I never just have one idea for a stamp set and since Comfort & Hope has been on my desk I’ve had several different ideas for this set. As the Word Wishes dies and embossing powders were also on my desk from yesterday’s Christmas wreath card, it sort of dictated what I was going to use next.

The three coloured panels are Soft Suede, Cinnamon Cider and Soft Seafoam, each 3cm x 13.8cm in size. The wheat grass image from Comfort & Hope was stamped in Versamark and clear heat embossed over each of the panels and then the small sequin trio stamp from the set was also added in gold embossing powder. The sentiment was die cut from Gold Foil paper using the Word Wishes dies. The whole lots was layered onto a white mat panel and then onto a Cinnamon Cider card base…..don’t need the card until September, but I am getting organised, just hope I don’t lose it between now and then!

New goodies and Comfort & Hope Christmas card

So my pre-order for the new Stampin’ Up! Annual 2020-2021 Catalogue arrived on Friday…and I’m not sure what the poor box did to Australia Post, but this is how it arrived…

Fortunately most of the items were still inside so I could actually create and play with the new items I purchased…being Covid19 affected my income stopped on March 13th, but the good news is I had some demonstrator bonuses and for less than $20 I got this awesome package of goodies (not including the cost of the catalogues for customers & the Beginner Brochure pictured is my personal copy)…so still lots of new things to play with even on a limited budget!

The first stamp set I went to play with is called Comfort & Hope and I know it isn’t Christmas, but I like to use stamp sets in lots of different ways to get maximum value from them, so I teamed up the wheat grass image from the set with the new Old World Paper embossing folder and the Word Wishes dies in the new Cinnamon Cider card stock and ribbon colour to create a Christmas wreath card.

The new Cinnamon Cider ribbon is so lovely and soft and ties really well. The word dies I layered up on themselves with Gold Foil and Whisper White to create a raised sentiment and then went over it with Wink of Stella (so grateful that is carrying over) and I know metallics don’t photograph well, but here’s a close up so you can sort of see what I mean.

I fussy cut ten of the gold heat embossed wheat grass images, but then it was Sunday afternoon and I am caught up on most household chores, well except ironing, there’s always that to do! I have lots more ideas for my new toys and hope to share them with you soon.

If you would like a copy of the new Annual Stampin Up! catalogue releasing June 3rd or are new to papercrafting and would like a Beginner Brochure, please email me and I will organise that for you.

Isolation Craft Classes

Okay so I am missing crafting with you all, so since I’m at home now now zipping all over the state with my scaly kids, I thought I’d create some classes by mail. My aim is to do one class a month consisting of 4 cards with envelopes and a 3D item. These kits will need you to provide your own adhesives, black ink and a sentiment stamp set (if you don’t have the later I can computer generate some sentiments and include those – it is against Stampin’ Up! policy – or of course you can buy black ink and a sentiment set from my online store!).

April’s class is all about bees, I love my bee hive and my girls are very buzzy at the moment getting ready for winter and enjoying the beautiful sunshine we are still having during this unusually hot spell. Self Isolation Essentials Flash Sale!

So I can’t be the only one turning to crafting to help ease the current craziness and help bring some stress relief into my life as well as stay connected to others in a meaningful way – it does feel like I am single handedly supporting Australia Post at the moment with the volume of cards and pre-paid satchels I am mailing out!

The upside is that I am getting through some of my pre-cut kits from eons ago and actually making them up – although not as they had originally been cut to do so as I’ve long forgotten what they were supposed to be or long since sold those stamps or dies…but one thing I have noticed is how low I am running on adhesives, envelopes and white card stock so I thought that I couldn’t be the only one having this issue…so if you are in the same boat why not take advantage of my flash Isolations Essentials sale – you can either contact me via email to place your order or if you order online using the online hostess code 39QCQGFW if you are ordering online I will refund you the sale items price difference either via PayPal or direct deposit as the sale is with me not Stampin’ Up!

The sale is inclusive from Sunday 12th of April 2020 and concludes on Sunday 26th of April and does not cover postage if you are ordering online. If you live locally I am happy to do contactless drop off to your house.

Of course you are welcome to add other items to your order and if you were wondering why there are so many different adhesives, it’s because they all do slightly different things (although my personal mainstays are multipurpose glue, dimensionals and glue dots). The sale is only via myself and is for a limited time, so stock up on your essential isolation supplies now!

Stampin’ Up! adhesives

NB: there is no limit on the amount of items you can purchase during the sale period, it can even be on more than one order, but it does have to be via myself and if online using the hostess code.

Christmas Wreath

So amidst the craziness I decided to start using my time effectively and decided that unlike last year I would get an early start on my Christmas Cards. However I like using non Christmas stamp sets for this purpose rather than having lots that are just for that purpose, hence I used the sale-a-bration set Happy Birthday to You. It involved lots of fussy cutting, but at the minute I have time!

The wreath was die cut from the Painted Labels dies and then the centre cut out with a 1 3/4″ circle punch. The flowers were white heat embossed and then coloured with re-inker and an aqua painter. After making a dozen cards in this style I used the off cuts on a tag rather than just let them accumulate in a box (as I have two full of those already).

How many Christmas cards do you normally make? I think I have several to go yet to get ahead of myself come the festive season.

Stamps: Happy Birthday to You, Christmas Gleaming

Ink: Old Olive & Real Red

Card stock: Copper Foil, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White

Accessories: Poppy Labels Dies, Nature’s Thoughts Dies, 1 3/4″ circle punch, Angled Tag Topper Punch, Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Sprig Punch & Multipurpose liquid glue.
