So today is Stampin’ Up!’s Day of Service – traditionally a day where employees and demonstrators in the company volunteer time to help complete worthy community projects, BUT 2020 just isn’t the same as normal years is it? So this year Stampin’ Up!’s Day of Service aims to make and SEND out cards to help brighten peoples lives…I combined this with yesterdays theme of National Bee Day and created a free 6″x6″ template for you to make 3 easy cards. Of course I was excited about everything and wanted to share that and thus did my first ever FB live video – which failed after 5 minutes as apparently my connection was unstable and I had to redo it….so if you are curious and want to hear me prattle on you can check it out on my FB page or here as my Cherub helped me to upload it to my neglected You Tube channel:
Okay so basically I used a super simple cutting template to cut my 6″x6″ piece of patterned paper into three pieces and made three cards to send of to others. Here are some examples of the sets of cards I made:
and a sneak peek using the new Beautiful World stamp set & coordinating designer series paper.
So you can see the layout of the cards is almost identical in each group, it’s a case of cutting the patterned paper, the contrast pieces and then just layering. The cutting template and instructions is here:
If you cut the paper the way the template is designed a full 12″x12″ sheet would give you 12 cards, or a full pack of designer series paper would yield 144 card fronts! The set I made in the above video are here…
I now have the issue that I have 12 cards (pictured throughout this post) and two full kits to make the honeybee cards above on my desk….so who would like a card or a kit either for yourself or a friend? Let me know via email if you do. Of course if you use the simple template above to create some cards please share them with me as I love seeing what others have made and next week I’ll show you a different way to cut and use your 6″x6″ designer series paper.
