Movie Ticket Holder

I got asked to make a simple movie ticket holder earlier this week for a Kris Kringle – a lovely way to turn a nice gift into an awesome gift (in my opinion anyway!). I just used the left overs of what we had at class and came up with this……..

gift certificate holder

I used the new champagne glimmer paper from the Holiday catalogue and the postage punches with Jolly Bingo Bits to spell out the word “Joy”. The inside I left plain except for matching designer paper (DSP) due to time anaemia.

Stamps: Jolly Bingo Bits

Ink: Cherry Cobbler & Gumball Green

Card Stock: Be of Good Cheer DSP, Gumball Green, Champagne and Red Glimmer Paper, Very Vanilla & Chocolate Chip.

Accessories: 1″ square punch, postage stamp punch, cherry cobbler twine, Owl punch, SNAIL, Tasteful Trim die.

NEW Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer

The new Stampin’ Up! paper trimmer is  available to order on December 1st, I got mine today and am loving it! (one of the benefits of being a demonstrator is that we get the products to play with before others!)

Trimmer

If you aren’t local and want to have a look at it – you can see it on a video here  just remember that the model available in Australia has metric as well as imperial measurements on it.

It features:

An extra-wide 15.9cm cutting base and an extended 36.5 cm ruler

    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4″ and 1mm increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating measurements down to 1mm and grid lines that mark each centimetre.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won’t wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin’ Trimmer securely in place on your work area.

A full 12″ cutting and scoring track

    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don’t have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you’re not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12″ (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.

Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts

    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you’re cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.

Storage compartment under base

    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you’ve stored.
  • Product details # 129722 $49.95
  • Replacement cutting blades #126995 $9.95 (pack of 2)
  • Replacement scoring blades #126996 $8.95 (pack of 2)

Emu Punch Art Card

I had a request from my husband this weekend to make an Emu card……he’s an environmental scientist and one of the PhD candidates he works with is studying Emu’s. Now I have made an ostrich card before, but not an Emu one……..so with a lot of punches, lots of fussy cutting this was the result……still not 100% with the beak, but given the time constraints it wasn’t a bad effort – was it?

Stamps: Up, Up & Away

Ink: Basic Black, Cajun Craze & Crumb Cake

Card stock: Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Basic Grey

Accessories: Ornament punch, Boho Blossom Punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, blossom punch, wide oval punch, small oval punch (retired), owl punch, stamping sponge, 3/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ square punch, Dimensionals, Tombow Glue, SNAIL.

Christmas lights

I have to confess, when I first saw Jolly Bingo Bits in the Catalogue I was like ho hum, then I actually started playing with it and decided I really like it! Plus the stamps work out at $2.75 a piece and some of them are versatile enough to use all year round, not just for Christmas themed items. I decided to play with the light globe image recently and using marker pens to colour the stamps plus lots of fussy cutting came up with this……..each light globe was covered with Crystal Effects and sprinkled with a little dazzling diamonds glitter before being popped up on a dimensional. Not a card I would necessarily mass produce, but very good for using up little scrap bits of white card stock and I was pleased with the end result.

Stamps: Merry & Type, Jolly Bingo Bits

Card Stock: Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White

Ink: Real Red, Midnight Muse, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive

Accessories: Basic Rhinestones, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals, paper snips.

Rainbow flower punch art

I recently got asked to make a one year olds birthday card that was “rainbows and flowers”……I thought about it for a couple of days before trying to get my mental image onto paper.

The clouds were sponged using a scallop circle punched from a post-it note as a mask. I shaped each flower on the foam mat to give them shape and then I hand drew in the dots for each flower centre.

Stamps: Memorable Moments

Ink: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie marker, Island Indigo marker, Lucky Limeade marker.

Card stock: Real Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Island Indigo & Pale Plum

Accessories: Bitty flower punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Tombow Glue, Stamping sponge, 3/4″ circle punch, basic rhinestones, 1 1/4″ scallop circle punch, 1 3/4″ scallop circle punch, Dimensionals.

Punch art angel

Well a little ray of sunshine told me today it’s only 7 weeks until Christmas…is it just me or has this year gone super quick? Anyways I thought it was time I started showing you some Christmas card ideas, this is one that is ideal for mass production that we did in class last month – some girls decided to add faces onto their angels, but at the minute mine is blank. To get the wings each side of the angel, I cut the butterfly in half and then attached it to the angel. Shhh don’t tell anyone but this card uses no ink or stamps!

Card stock: Festival prints DSP, Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit and Bashful Blue card stock & vellum.

Accessories: Cupcake builder punch, elegant butterfly punch, petite pennants builder punch, 3/4″ circle punch, Dimensionals, basic rhinestones, lacy brocade embossing folder, Tombow glue, Summer Starfruit stitched satin ribbon & Typeset Alphabet Bigz.
