Christmas Cards 2020

I was very fortunate this year to receive some gorgeous handmade Christmas Cards, I couldn’t help but want to share them with you as they are so beautiful. I’m always just a bit sad that cameras don’t pick up foil paper or sparkly embellishments very well. I loved Kathryn’s adaptation of the Tag Buffet tag into a great card front feature. I loved Marie’s use of the Poinsettia Petals bundle in non traditional colours – so glad that bundle is coming back next year and Danni used the flocked vellum from that suite, but combined it with Don’t Stop Believen’. Susie’s Gnome for the Holidays is super cute and Michelle & Peta both used some of my favourite punches – the Owl Builder and Gleaming Ornaments. I loved Charmaine’s use of the Wreath Builder & Well Written dies to create a Christmas card

50:50:50 Win for my Customers

So I know when this current Annual Catalogue launched I announced in my newsletter that there would be a 50:50:50 prize draw for customers supporting my Stampin’ Up! business, well life got in the way and I only just got around to drawing the first winners!

Basically for each $50 increment that customers spend with me they get a ticket in a draw, when I complete 50 tickets then I draw a name out to get a winner of a $50 voucher to spend with me on more Stampin’ Up! products or classes offered by me.

Due to my health & personal life getting a bit erratic from October the draw for the first completed sheet was delayed until I did a FaceBook Live yesterday when my son drew the winners out – I saw winners as to compensate for the delay I also drew out two $25 vouchers in addition to the $50 voucher.

Congratulations to Kerry $50, Kerry $25 and Elizabeth $25 vouchers.

The next sheet is almost half full and I promise not to be so flaky drawing it next time!

Discover Ink Team Gifts 2020

Each year I try to create a little gift to give to each of my Discover Ink team members, to let them know how much I value them during the year. This year has been super crazy and the last few weeks even more so for me personally, so my gifts weren’t quite as organised as normal and sadly I didn’t even manage cards for the girls!

I decorated & personalised a notebook with the Comfort & Hope and a soon to be released set called Enjoy the Moment. It was all done tone on tone with Crumb Cake ink, sponging and card stock with each persons initial being added using the sadly retired large letters dies in Copper Glimmer Paper.

The mini paper pumpkin box was decorated on the outside with Night of Navy card stock, silver foil, basic rhinestones, detailed trio corner punch and the retired Merry Christmas dies. Inside each box was stamped tissue paper using the holly from Christmas Gleaming, a lotto scratchie ticket (fingers crossed they win and can buy lots of SU! products), a laser cut tree ornament, some champagne rhinestones, beaded pearl embellishments, a candy cane mouse and of course some chocolate!

Update on Whisper White Range

So we had a fairly large announcement in Stampin’ Up! over the weekend – our
much loved Whisper White range is retiring –  the supplier’s mill producing the Whisper White card stock has permanently closed due to impacts from the
COVID-19 pandemic.

Rest assured that Stampin’ Up! has been very busy trying to find the best replacement paper possible – the new card stock will be called, Basic White!  The quality of the new Basic White was thoroughly tested by the quality assurance and
product teams. It also tested very well with North American demonstrators and
concept artists who gave it a huge thumbs up.

What does this mean for you?

With Whisper White going out of production, this means a number of Whisper
White products will be affected. Below is a list of all products that will be
replaced with our new Basic White cardstock. You can see and hear more about
the differences between the old and new papers on the video below.

These items are now available while supplies last with an order limit of 2 per
item per order.

Whisper White 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) card stock (124302)
Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes (149710)
Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes (131527)
Whisper White 3″ x 3″ (7.6 x 7.6 cm) Envelopes (145829)
Whisper White A4 Cardstock (106549)
Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock (140490)
Whisper White C6 Envelopes (106588)

The new Basic White products will become available to purchase as soon as they are in stock. This means that some Whisper White and Basic White products
may be available at the same time. Additionally, due to the nature of sourcing,
some Basic White products may not be available before the Whisper White
products sell out.

Discover Ink Team Christmas Party

Every year my little team of awesome stampers tries to gather together and have dinner…..generally it’s a fairly simple chicken with salads affair with dessert plus a couple of make & takes. Of course we also have Christmas crackers & a few little handmade gifts.

This years desserts were very decadent with deconstructed pavlova, fresh fruit platter, nougat, chocolates & mince tarts with cream.

Each person received a dazzling array of little gifts – these are optional and if we have time, we make them, if life has been super crazy we don’t without guilt as the last thing we need this year is yet more stress! You can see each individual gift below – sadly my photographic skills don’t extend to doing justice to the super glittery bauble; the Keep cup were the contents of the large brown paper bag

How awesomely talented are the people in my team & not to mention very generous, these events are always very humbling as well as inspiring. Of course not all my team could make it due to commitments and geography so they’ll be getting the gifts from me in the mail or on their doorsteps soon!

The two make & takes that we created were from the new January to June mini catalogue and I will blog those seperately.

CASEing the Catalogue for Christmas

I love how many different inspirational pictures of cards, scrapbook layouts and 3D items there are in the catalogues that Stampin’ Up! produces. Sometimes a colour scheme, layout or similar catches my eye and I “CASE” (Copy And Share with Everyone). On page 75 of the current mini catalogue I saw one such layout for a card…..but decided to use different patterned paper, since I love the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper with it’s stunning copper accents.

I stamped in Night of Navy ink the sentiment from the Snowman Season stamp set, which was perfect on the whisper white card strips as it’s a photopolymer stamp set and thus easy to line up. This card layout is perfect for using up all those strips of pretty paper, the Banners Pick A Punch makes flagging the ends of the strips very easy. The strips were layered onto a Crumb Cake card stock mat and then onto Night of Navy card base.

This is a very versatile layout & simple to mass produce, it’d also look stunning for a birthday card by just changing the sentiment.

Strawberry Slice

So each month at Pizza & Papercrafting we get together to chat & work on our respective crafty projects, have pizza dinner and supper. Well over the years the supper has become something of a baking event…. I have blogged the Peppermint Slice recipe previously, but as it’s now strawberry season I thought I’d share last months offering…..a Strawberry & Condensed Milk Slice

For once I have to say my photo is almost the same as the food styled one on the recipe website! Apparently it tasted good as well, let me know if you make it and if yours turns out as good.
