OnStage Live 2016 Brisbane

sp_10yr_shareable_thumb
So Stampin’ Up! had the international meeting in Brisbane earlier this month and it was a lot of fun. Every 6 months there is one 3 day OnStage Live event which rotates between North America, Europe & the South Pacific and then the other regions who don’t host the 3 day event get a one day event called OnStage Local. This was the first Live event for the South Pacific and also coincided with the South Pacific 10th anniversary.

If you like the above black and gold polka dot pop up rubbish bins, they are part of the South Pacific 10th anniversary celebrations and are available whilst stocks last for $10 each order code 145173 or you can get one for FREE from me by placing an order of over $100 (whilst stocks last).

One of the highlights of any Stampin’ Up! event is catching up with old friends and making new ones, it’s fantastic being able to hang out with people who all ‘get’ craft! I was fortunate enough this time to have 3 others from my team join me at the event.

It was also fun to catch up with staff from the Head Office in North America.Below is a photograph taken at the CentreStage dinner with CEO of the company Sara Douglas.

One of the ways that we initiate conversations with demonstrators we don’t know and also to share ideas is to make little stamped swap items. Sue from my team made 100 of these cute little koala treats which went down very well with people. The koala is made from the Fox Builder punch.

IMG_3966-2

Of course the company spoiled us with lots of amazing gifts including bags. stamp sets, accessories, treats, food, make & takes and more!

IMG_5204

This event I was very fortunate to be asked to design some items with new stamps & framelits for the display boards to help inspire others. I will blog those items soon.

IMG_3983
Of course not all my team could join me at the event, but whilst I was there I used some of the new stamps to make each of them a card so that they didn’t miss out entirely on all the fun!

IMG_4850-2

These were made using new ribbon, designer series paper and stamps that will be available in the new Occasions catalogue in January. Of course I couldn’t let them have naked envelopes either as that would just be too boring for the mail person delivering them!

IMG_5157-2I will share more swaps, photographs and ideas from OnStage soon

Bandana Technique Meets Flourishing Paisley & Posies

When I got my first sneak peek of the new Holiday Catalogue in August, I knew straight away that I NEEDED to order the stamp set Paisleys & Posies – not because I am a paisley fan, but because there were two special instructors in my life that I wanted to make a card for using one of the sentiments – I ordered the set 2 months ago, but only just gave them their cards this last week, definitely in catch up mode!

IMG_2089-2

I think my watermark may have obscured some of the sentiment, but if you are optically challenged the sentiment reads “I thank you for your part in my journey”. I took the colours and technique from a few years ago and updated it with new in colours (if you haven’t done the bandana technique you can see a step by step of it here from umm 4 years ago – not sure where that time went). I love this technique as it’s so personal, each card is unique depending upon the sponging and white chalk pen highlights – the chalk pen is more transparent than the original white gel pen that I used in the original post, but I just go over each dot or line twice and it seems to come out fine.

Baby Bear

How realistic does this baby bear stamp image look? He’s such a beautiful vintage bear and he is doubly special as he was my OnStage prize in Sydney so he was my beautiful gift for being a demonstrator, Stampin’ Up! really are very generous.

I went a bit crazy making things with him for my catalogue launch party, but this was the first card I made with him that I sent to my uplines as they didn’t get to go to the Sydney meeting for different reasons and I was sad that they missed out.

IMG_8942-2

The bear I prefer to stamp from darkest to lightest inks and were Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede & Crumb Cake and the bow & sentiment were done in Marina Mist and Dapper Denim.
